Can anyone do sophrology sessions?

Sophrology is a very simple technique and one of its founding principles is adaptability. Concretely, this means that the sophrologist must adapt his session to his client and not expect his client to adapt to the sophrology.

Children : from 4, 5 years. The sophrology session will not be the same as for an adult. The exercises are the same, but the sessions will be adapted in their duration and also in the language used by the sophrologist. Indeed, the children’s sessions are shorter than the session for adults (30 minutes for children). They take place in the form of games: instead of asking children to breathe in and out, the sophrologist will suggest blowing out a candle (imaginary). Upon inspiration, the child will fill up with the calm potion. The sophrologist will rely heavily on the child’s tastes (which he will have questioned before) to create personalized sessions and use his favorite fictional characters. He will therefore feel strong like Superman or Elsa (Frozen), as intelligent as Spiderman, will destroy his worries with the Jedi sword … :)

Pregnant women : the exercises are adapted (if necessary) to the needs and possible physical limitations of this audience. Standing exercises can be done while seated, breathing is also adapted so that the woman feels comfortable throughout the session. The sessions can be a little longer (1 hour and 15 minutes) if the woman needs this extra time.

The elderly : it is quite possible to practice sophrology when you are old and have reduced mobility. The sophrologist will take care to respect the physical limits of this audience in his choice of exercises. The sophrologist is attentive to his client throughout the session and is perfectly capable of adapting to the slightest sign of physical or other discomfort.

Namely: sophrology sessions are not reserved only for healthy adults. The practice can completely be carried out in addition to medical monitoring or treatment to achieve daily well-being.

And you? Have you ever tested sophrology?
