Combining dance and sophrology: a new practice
It is by combining several techniques and being inspired by several psychological and therapeutic currents that sophrology was developed more than 50 years ago.
Nowadays, things continue to evolve and sophrology merges with other techniques, notably artistic ones, to strengthen access to oneself and one’s senses.
This is what sophro-danse brings, a new technique created by dancer and choreographer Marie-Paule Marbach.
Trained in Paris, then New York, choreographer of the company Empreintes for more than ten years, Marie-Paule felt the need during her career to have a more internalized listening to her body.
She then studied sophrology and now runs workshops in universities, the arts and hospitals.
In addition to her work as a sophrologist, she made the bet to combine simple dance steps with sophrology exercises to allow everyone to get closer to themselves and to listen to their senses.
Just like sophrology, sophro-danse is a simple technique accessible to everyone, so put on your slippers!
