In summer, it’s time to let it go.

Even if time does not seem to indicate it yet, summer is here!

And for many, it’s holidays time. As some only leave once a year, this is a much expected and precious moment. All the more so that with each moment of stress, fatigue or inattention, we hear people say to us or we say to ourselves “that we really need a vacation”.

But what are they really for?

Simply to live differently. Generally speaking, we opt for a different way of life. We leave our “home” for a more pleasant place like the seaside, the countryside or the mountains. We sleep in a tent, under the stars, with locals, or at hotels. We no longer take the time to cook and do our shopping. We have lunch or dinner in the restaurant, ice cream on the terrace. We laze on the beach. There is finally time to read. We share more time with family or friends. We practice our favorite activity. We visit and discover new places. For a while, we seem to give more time to ourselves or to others.

Of course, this inventory is just an idyllic map of what the holidays should be. They can also be a source of tension, stress and anxiety.

Preparation for departure, suitcases, fear of the plane or the road, forgetting a passport, unbearable children, delayed or canceled flights or trains, traffic jams, disappointment when arriving at your place of resort, crowded beaches … can be all factors likely to disturb this moment which, at the beginning, was supposed to be pleasant.

What philosophy should we adopt to guarantee success?

What if this year, the option of living differently was really one of the summer resolutions ? To think that finally we take a break from everyday life, and that we have the right to be serene, even if worries of another order accumulate. Managing the stress of the holidays is possible and relatively simple to put in place by preparing yourself beforehand. Individual sessions on a specific theme with a sophrologist or even group sessions can provide the necessary tools  to maintain calm and install the long-awaited serenity for the duration of your vacation.

Leaving already contributes to letting go or taking a step back from everyday life.

Take advantage of this time to pause and simply take time for yourself.

Focus again on your sensations, your breathing. Rediscover your body and the benefits that come from it. Relieve yourself of all the physical and psychological tensions accumulated over the year. Simply breathe, learn to have a fresh and positive outlook on your own life. Sophrology exercises, in their plurality, offer as many ways to escape, take a step back and put distance from everyday life. A minimum investment of “time / money” is therefore necessary to recharge its batteries again and be ready to face the start of the new school year.

Take the test this year and you will probably benefit as much as a week in the sun or in the fresh air! It would even be interesting to continue, once the holidays are over, to make lasting effects part of your daily life. Something to have the impression of having settled in the Bahamas all year round!
